Chords in Indian music are not used in the same way as they are used in Western music. Therefore this chord book must not be considered as an authority in this field, but only as a helpful transposition from an Indian setting to a Western one. It is a very useful guide to learn how to accompany Bhajans for Westerners unfamiliar with the Indian style of playing the harmonium. It can also be useful to Indians who wish to understand the Western use of chords in Bhajans.
